Perhaps it is because of the lack of advancement opportunity; maybe it is the 50+ hours you are working; or it could be a supervisor you are having frustrations. Despite the reason, you are considering packing it up and moving elsewhere.
First things first: do you have something else lined up? Leaving your job without any other source of income lined up is not recommended at all! If you think you will get unemployment, think again because you are VERY unlikely to get that compensation if you quit. The worst thing is to find yourself unemployed, without income and trying to explain to prospective employers why you have not been working. Start looking, and stick it until you land the better job.
Next, you only live once. If this thought of leaving has been in your head for a few months, what are you waiting for? Unless you begin to take steps to make improvements there, things are not going to change. You could always suck it up, and develop a plan for success that would benefit everyone; chances are, you aren’t the only person feeling the same way.
However, if you are confident things will be business as usual, get out there and see your options. Don’t stay somewhere because you are afraid to start over.Michael Grantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430676173703940417.post-69079419699264002852008-07-04T08:45:00.000-07:002008-08-04T08:47:10.434-07:00Interview: What to Wear / How to DressThe phrases ‘dress to impress’ and ‘dress for success’ are two great concepts to consider when going into an interview, or even when you start a new job/career. Many people find difficulty in making the decision of what to wear to an interview and what follows are friendly words of advice.
Whether male or female, dressing conservative is recommended and preferred regardless of the gender of the interviewer. Some women think dressing sexy will help, but there is a thin line between sexy and slutty. A short skirt and low cut top is not a good decision for any job where the average age of the employee is 18 or older. I am not saying to conceal your body by any means; if you have some features to be proud of, you can highlight them. However, don’t let them come falling out. For women, pants collared shirt and suit jacket are best. The collared shirt can be revealing enough to your preference and the job type. No heavy and large earrings; diamond studs would be great, and a necklace along with a ring would be nice accents. As far as shoes, careers like closed toe shoes, but if it is a job, you have more freedom to decide. Lastly, no flashy colors (i.e. pink, lime, orange); go with white, blue, gray or another ‘non-loud’ color.
Now, to the men… Since males don’t have the variety of outfits to make a choice from, this advice is simpler. No earrings and no tattoos showing. If the job you are going for is not one which requires a suit, still wear a tie. Keep with the advice for which colors to wear from above (white, blue, gray), and have everything ironed. When you wear dress pants, make certain to have the socks match (no white socks please). In short, men should be wearing a suit, and if in doubt, carrying your suit jacket with you is not a bother.

Here is more detailed information about what to wear and what not to wear: ARTICLEMichael Grantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430676173703940417.post-67737714502610835272008-07-01T10:33:00.000-07:002008-07-30T16:23:41.283-07:00HOW IT WORKS
Individuals:
Send your resume (Microsoft Word Document) and a picture to info@yawzer.com. Yawzer began to help bring career seekers and employers closer together. With most sites restricting access to a resume or charging companies a membership fee, the greatest benefit to both the applicant and hirer is not being attained.

Yawzer provides employers across America with potential employees to help fill their positions. Relying solely on applicants doesn’t give companies the full range of people needed be successful; Yawzer helps to increase the pool of candidates, and to get the right person for the right job. In these times, we can let a person find that opportunity, but we also need to help that opportunity find the person.

Yawzer’s mission is to help you achieve the standard of living you seek, and the lifestyle you want. We will do this by allowing individuals to post their resume online to be searched by small, medium and large companies, as well as promoting candidates we feel would be best for certain carrers.

Feel free to contact us with questions or further information: info@yawzer.com

(c) Grants Development, LLC 2008Michael Grantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430676173703940417.post-32042610131820902192008-06-05T10:22:00.000-07:002008-08-05T10:24:09.969-07:00Resume HelpThe Resume! A resume, among many resumes, is but another piece of paper. Now, consider most companies want resumes to be emailed, now it becomes even harder to get noticed. If employers are viewing a resume for 10 seconds or less, the important information needs to stand out and grab attention. You will also want to use other avenues (recruiters like myself) to help you get your foot in the door. For now, we will stick to the resumes.
The recommended layout is the following order, from top to bottom: Header (name, address, contact info); Objection; Education; Experience; Skills/Certifications; and Awards. Use bold wisely, as too much will defeat the purpose of drawing the readers’ attention to the important parts of your resume.
Your resume should be specific to the position you are applying; hence, having the same resume for different positions (i.e. accounting and sales) is not the best. Your resume has to be tailored towards the job itself, and the assignments you will be responsible upon hire. Therefore, if you plan to apply for sales, logistics and marketing positions, then have three resumes – one for each. One page of information is plenty, so don’t worry if your resume is not 10 pages long.

If you want someone help creating a resume, go to CITIZEN DRIVEN and they will create a rough draft that you can work with. Here are some RESUME EXAMPLES.

Any other questions, you can email advice@yawzer.comMichael Grantnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1430676173703940417.post-90134141057530562062008-06-02T17:35:00.000-07:002008-08-07T09:01:29.995-07:00Company Sites for Job InformationAbercrombie
Aeropostale
Aldo
American Eagle
Applebees
Bally
Banana Republic
Bar Louie
Best Buy
Blockbuster
BP
Bravo
Chilis
Cingular/at&t
Circuit City
Dave and Busters
DHL
Dick's
Express
FedEx
Fridays
Gap
Hollister
Home Depot
Houlihans
Ikea
J-Crew
Kmart
LA Fitness
Lowes
Macy's
Microsoft
Office Depot
Officemax
Olive Garden
Sears
Sheetz
Sprint
Staples
Sunoco
Target
Tmobile
UPS
Verizon Wireless
Victorias Secret
WalmartMichael Grantnoreply@blogger.com
